To further build this understanding among early childhood
stakeholders in the
state, WI - AIMH held a meeting to explore the endorsement process and the impact it has on workforce development
in November 2010 with public and private
stakeholders from
multiple agencies and systems working with young children.
Over the course of this grant, FOI: (1) is producing professional development materials to help staff representing
multiple state agencies better understand the basic science of child development generally and the promotion of executive function and self - regulation skills more specifically; (2) is supporting the creation of small learning communities, building on existing relationships at the site and policy level and connecting to other learning communities across North America; (3) is supporting the Washington cross-agency working group to sustain its current gains and momentum during the upcoming executive branch transition
in January and to share lessons learned with the broader national FOI community of
states and Canadian provinces; and (4) is beginning conversations with
stakeholders at the community level to explore mutual interests and is beginning to chart a path toward enhanced collaboration within the
state.
Many will have very tough decisions to make
in meeting the requirements and expectations of the new school financing law, implementing
multiple new academic standards, preparing for a new
state assessment
in math and English language arts and balancing the requests of their many
stakeholders (parent groups, teacher bargaining units, community and business leaders).
Living
in the 21st century also means data is more accessible to the public, a context which Ramanathan views as an opportunity for
multiple stakeholders to access and present data
in more useful ways than the indicators traditionally developed by the
state.

in Arizona that balances economic development with a landscape level safeguarding of biological diversity (including hundreds of vulnerable animals and plants).
Moreover, we're working collaboratively with

in the southern United
States to help those communities build resilience to natural and manmade disasters.

multiple instruments by advisory committees consisting of kindergarten teachers, school superintendents, parents, early childhood educators,
state officials, and other
stakeholders.
