The Nasher Museum, on the Duke University campus, again raises the nasty problem of how public institutions depend on and feed into private acquisitions.

As Curator - at - Large, she will work with the Tang's team to plan and implement exhibitions and artist projects, produce inventive programs at the Tang and in New York City, expand interdisciplinary research and scholarship, advise the Museum on key acquisitions, and share her expertise with Skidmore faculty, staff, and students.

Bringing together approximately 150 highlights from the Museum's permanent collection and many recent acquisitions, Art and Resolution includes works across media, with a focus on print and photography portfolios, which visualize resolution and its conceptual underpinnings and seek to act as agents of reconciliation through visual culture.

The market for African American art appears to be surging, at least based on the changing acquisitions policies of museums and an impressive sale of African American art held earlier this month at Swann Auction Galleries.

Later on, the Museum's keepings were enriched considerably, and now this is one of the largest and most impressive collections of modern and contemporary Russian art, which continues to grow through acquisitions and donations.

Today the Los Angeles County Museum of Art has also announced its acquisition of Kruger's Untitled (Shafted), (2008), commissioned by LACMA for the opening of the Broad Contemporary Art Museum (BCAM), where it is currently on view in the elevator shaft.
