I
'm a vegetarian and I try to eat
vegan most of the time — I hadn't thought
about putting avocados in my sauce.
Nutritional Yeast isn't really all that nutritional, unfortunately, as I learned in this article
about B12 deficiency which I read after I went
vegan in an attempt to regain my health.
I haven't done a lot of gluten - free baking up to this point but I like to challenge myself in the kitchen and I've
been learning more
about gluten - free baking from Ricki Heller's «Naturally Sweet & Gluten - Free» — a gorgeous
vegan baking book whose recipes
are exclusively gluten - free, as well as free from refined sugars.
And I
'm not talking
about eggless egg powder or whatever that REAL
vegans use.
What got me so excited
about this recipe
was not only that
is is VEGAN, but that it
is non perishable for up to 1 week at room temperature!
What I love
about Yum Universe
is that it has so much content available which includes
not only recipes but so many other aspects of living a
vegan lifestyle.
I took part in this campaign last month sharing my
Vegan Green Curry recipe, but if you didn't have a chance to check that out, let me share what it
's all
about.
What
's great
about this recipe
is that it
's easy, involves staple ingredients, affordable, the sauce can
be used for countless other dishes, it can
be made in bulk in advance (simply don't combine the squash with sauce), the sauce
is smokey, spicy, and tangy, it
's non
vegan approved, and perf for any season!
What I love
about Vegan Cuts snack boxes (see a previous review here),
is that it
's often full of brand new treats you probably haven't seen in stores yet, especially if you live in Canada!
Geneva isn't just
about chocolate and fondue, it also has juice bars and vegetarian,
vegan, and gluten free food options.
Now that you know how much protein you need, what
is and isn't true
about plant - based protein and which
vegan proteins
are best for you, you can easily make sure that your
vegan diet includes plenty of delicious, nutrient dense protein and that you enjoy a varied and interesting diet.
What I love
about this dish
is that it contains accessible and affordable ingredients, can
be made in advance, in bulk, has multiple textures, flavors, slightly sweet with cranberries, slightly tart with tofu, won't spoil in days, and will leave even your non
vegan peeps longing for more!

about smoothies though — she
's an expert in any kind of healthy vegetarian and
vegan foods that can
be made with a blender,
be they soups, dips, desserts, and yep — smoothies!
If you
're not about this garbanzo bean whip, you can easily use coconut whipped cream,
vegan yogurt, or any other dairy - free alternative.
Based on everything I know, I feel obligated to warn you
about two plant - based proteins that have become staples in the
vegan / vegetarian kitchen, but shouldn't
be there at all.
Hi Rob — Sometimes I think discussions
about this can get incredibly heated, and I think each to his own, but the devastation a lot of palm oil causes to rainforests and the animals who live there make a lot of
vegans want to choose to go without — I think I have read somewhere that earth balance use sustainable palm oil —
not grown in the rainforests, some people find it easier to avoid palm oil all together as it can
be hard to check where it
is from with each product.
If you

In my early
vegan days, restaurants like Blossom showed me that
being vegan wasn't
about sacrificing certain foods, but rather meant getting amazing ingredients that...
And I guess a show
about baking can't
be bad:) This cake looks awesome, love that it
is vegan!!
Bourdain
is well - known for having a dislike for
vegans and vegetarians alike for years (he once said
vegans are self - indulgement) but here
's the thing: plant - based protein isn't
about personal preference or opinion
about food, it
's about the impact.
But what this successful attempt really did
was make me curious
about a homemade
vegan béchamel: the classic béchamel sauce
is made with butter, flour, and milk, so why
not just make it with oil, flour, and some sort of non-dairy milk?
She
is especially passionate
about creating raw,
vegan desserts and experimenting with new ingredient combinations in the kitchen, and when
not out on the trails can
be found hanging out in downward dog, spinning or brewing a fresh batch of kombucha!
I didn't make them
vegan, using lite cream cheese instead, but everything
about them
was amazing!

vegan ways to substitute condensed milk, how on Earth I didn't think
about corn starch as a thickener?
This yummy Caesar salad would have broken my hummus monotony... actually, retro food

about flapjacks...!
As much as it pains me to admit this my life isn't all
about making dainty
vegan desserts.

's not about being vegetarian or
vegan but
about being kind to yourself, making a step to include more plant based food into your life and reaping the rewards...
