As always, keep in mind if that if you weren't planning on doing any shopping, then spending money just to

not be worth it, as there have been offers before that make spending
more worth your while, like this one and this one.
But there are so many
more valuable ways to
earn and redeem frequent flyer
miles that I wouldn't do it.
For a number of years Barclays» primary travel card has been its Arrival credit card but, while that card started life off quite promisingly, Barclays didn't wait too long before devaluing its
earning power to a point where it's nothing
more than a also - ran in the
miles and points world.
I would
not recommend paying
more to Rocketmiles just to
earn more miles.
Especially if it's
not the last of your
miles you're spending, or if you will be able to
earn more.
So what I'm saying is, if it's
more trouble than it's worth, don't worry about
earning every little point or
mile.
Ever since airlines began to devalue their frequent flier programs, it's that much
more important for us to diversify and find smart - although,
not always obvious - ways in which to
earn miles and points.
I had a United Mileage Explorer card that I obtained in 2014, closed a year later in May or June 2015 so it has certainly been two years since I opened that account and
earned the bonus, but will
not be 24 months since I closed the account and got my last
miles on that card until May or
more likely June 2017.
