Make sure that you have the HTC USB Drivers installed on your computer first, as otherwise your One X phone will not be recognized.

I can't get my Fire to be recognized in KFU, even though the drivers are installed correctly and display as: «Andriod Phone» & «Andriod Composite ADB Interface» in my device manager (no yellow triangle).

So, i have my firmware the newest one (2.5.6) and i did apply the jailbreak, updaed the usbNetwork driver, installed telnetd and sshd, got root on it, disabled configured network default gw to use my mac as default gateway (share internet from my mac) and disabled to use the whispernet (here in Brazil it doesn't work on the US Wireless DX Kindle).

If I try to install the drivers manually I get the infamous «Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date» If I try to force load the drivers by telling Windows I have a disk and point at the drivers provided it tells me it didn't find an appropriate driver.

So you can't use USB Mass Storage mode anymore if you install driver with Kindle Fire Utility.

Why not use install driver feature in Kindle Fire Utility?

Reconnect NT... as long as auto mount is off Windows will allow you to install the adb drivers.

If it isn't then your Kindle Fire isn't plugged in properly or your drivers aren't installed properly.

I have adb installed, but I didn't update the driver as in the guide you linked to.
