Even when a
post is popular on social media, it doesn't mean that other websites /
blogs are going
to link to the content.
Not only do his
posts get great engagement, but he also drops
links to his related
blog posts within the article and a
link to his newsletter at the end of the article.
Seeing that this
blog is solely about
links, I don't think I'll be writing a
post about on - site ecommerce SEO, but I can point you
to a few great resources by Adam Audette:
I hope you don't mind me having written a translation (and set a

blog for the many German people interested in SEO, who are
not so familiar with english...
Search engines are smart enough
to calculate a correlation (e.g., your gardening site had a
blog post about a children's craft project) or if the
links appear random (e.g.,
linking to several different pages on your site that aren't related
to crafts).
A perfect
link bait can become a good landing page for your web site, eventually draw visitors
to other pages as well, it may
not be necessary
to have every
posts to be outstanding in your
blog, just have one once in a while will be good enough.

I don't mind people
posting links to their
blog at all.
I usually read your
posts via bloglines... since you don't use a
blog design with columns (which could have a permanent
link to your eBay auctions... or gallery shows or whatever), perhaps you could include a
link at the bottom of each
post?
