That's
not to call it wildly commercial, however, and it seems like a smart ploy on producer Scott Rudin's
part to start here in Cannes and
plan a long - term roll - out; this is
not a quick, immediate sell and could benefit from some
of the
lessons learned after the box - office failure last year
of Paul Thomas Anderson's equally acclaimed The Master.
So, we wanted to have things like common unit
lesson plans, we also wanted to develop more
of a team culture so that there's more sharing
of ideas and more collaboration... But we also wanted to develop resources that could be used within the school and beyond the school, because a lot
of our students, we find when they leave us they don't return to any other education environment, they're sort
of outside the education system... As
part of our intervention we developed a suite
of teaching materials around the Certificate I in Core Skills for Employment and Training that can be used widely.
Unlike what is so often the case ~ higher - level students do
not need to wait for their peers to catch up and repeat material simply because it is
part of the pacing guide or current
lesson plan.
We need to view activities like morning meetings or mindful transitions or yoga as
part of the
lesson plan, the norm, to be expected — and
not as an addendum.
As there have been no immediate actions taken to address the stress, workload and recruitment crisis that our teachers face, many have resorted to working
part - time, only working 4 out
of 5 days a week, using the 5th day to catch up on
lesson planning and marking, in turn docking their pay by thousands in the name
of providing high quality teaching so their students won't suffer.

Caveat: we didn't have more than 10 - 15 minutes at the end for participants to work on
part 3
of their
lesson plans, which is the meaty
part — the «this is what I'm going to say and do»
part.
And because the state has provided little help with Common Core instruction and
lesson plan design (
part of that «infrastructure» that doesn't exist in CA and gives Michael Kirst insomnia) to the teachers currently in classrooms, our district is spending roughly $ 100 million in LCFF funds to pull teachers out
of classrooms during 10 instructional days this year to work in school site PLCs.
Instead
of waiting for them to ask this question, why
not make it
part of the
lesson plans that you create.
Find Ways to Focus on Weather in the Classroom Meteorology isn't a
part of a core curriculum, however, most science classes do include
lesson plans on weather and the atmosphere.
With this project soon coming to an end, it is time to reflect on what
lessons our research has allowed us to learn, and to share these
lessons with those within the legal community so that, hopefully, the individuals who draw up the
plans for future courthouses will take note and make technology an integral
part of their design,
not an afterthought.
Either way, I was taught a valuable
lesson: If you want to be smart about your money, investing has to be a
part of your financial
plan, and also that Beanie Babies don't count as investing.
