While I love looking at your
pictures and
recipes, most aren't affordable
for me (student budget).
Any chance you will do a book with a beautiful
picture for each
recipe as I am a book lover and
not too hot with technology as like life as natural as possible.
* However in the
recipe you ask
for pine nuts while there are hazelnuts on the
picture — is this a typo or does it just
not matter?

I actually thought of this while we were away, when my brother and I were whipping up a batch of homemade za'atar
for a Middle Eastern dinner we were making, but I didn't note down the
recipe or take
pictures, so I made it again when we got home and am very glad to have a jar of it in the pantry.
We didn't have any nuts or creme fraiche in the house, and I used cranberries instead of raisins, but it still turned out delicious.Thanks again

I also added some raw Gruyère cheese to this

These Gooey Black Bean and Beet Brownies were
not at all what I had intended to share this week, truthfully I hadn't decided what

I haven't tried making and freezing an entire batch
for later use, but I did freeze one cone (the one in the photo, in fact), after filling it with ice cream (

picture I will post on Wed along with an ice cream

I have discovered that these
recipes should be followed pretty closely - every time I try to substitute or add a little less of an ingredient it doesn't turn out the same, and it seems to take me a second try to get each dessert just right, especially
for the desserts which don't have
pictures in this book.
But this
recipe looked so good (I'm such a sucker
for a good food
picture), I couldn't help but give it a chance.
This soup is
not pictured with it here, but is wonderful when served with coconut lime rice... the
recipe for the rice is also below.
I was rewarded with something that resembles Cornbread (which is still good to know) but
not the double batch size I read suggested previously, nor the one
pictured for that
recipe.
Looking through her cookbook, which you can still get on the link I left
for Amazon, besides drooling at all the
pictures, I was drawn to one that I remember from way - back - when that I made when she first came out with the

for the week and all of the ingredients come pre-packaged to the correct measurements and an easy to follow

I just wanted to let you know that
for some reason, you can't «pin» this
recipe on Pinterest because it doesn't allow you to use any of the
pictures for the pin.
If you are struggling with the same thing, my first tip is to look
for recipes that you don't have to modify —
for example, in France there is a long tradition of baking with almond flour, so the authentic
recipes for macarons (fancy and rustic) and financiers (
pictured above) are naturally gluten - free.
I halved the
recipe and the liquid wasn't nearly as red / purple as yours looked in the
picture after I simmered the blueberries
for 30 min, it was more of a light brown color.
My only problem with this book (and I am probably being picky) is that there is
not a
picture of the meal you are cooking
for each
recipe.
In the
picture it looks as though it has been cooked in a round tin but the
recipe states a rectangular tin which doesn't make
for a dinner party pudding, rather more a traybake.
I've never actually beaten a whole egg like this
for a
recipe and my result does
not look like the
picture!
