The truth, the reason you don't read any of the scriptures I write back is because of what you told me already, you don't know how to read the Bible.

of jesus — he isn't special enough to believe in the god you claim yet
not read the part that came before the man as he himself tells you to know the

scriptures that I can't
read because
of the way they have been used in the past.

of verses that came to mind while I was
reading this, take a moment to get real with
scripture... again I must give my tongue to Him because if it's mine it probably won't be profitable to anyone and that's why I'm here, to be profitable to Him and those around me... I love you all!
Semitic languages are so rich with layers
of metaphor and allusion that we can't possibly understand their picture
of God by
reading the
scriptures in English.
It's
not that I don't feel like I can, I can... but is that in the vocabulary
of the one who I worship, if it's
not then why would I as His Son want to take on what is
not His, my Father's nature... The versions
of the Bible I've
read seem to think that words are powerful and speaking them is an action and can even change physics if used properly... Again, the
scriptures speak for themselves and circumventing the topical study with christiany cliche come - backs doesn't answer or annul anything that the Word has to say on the matter.
I just think some Christians are lazy and don't want to
read more about the totality
of scripture and delve deeper into interpretation... we prefer a grade 3
reading and comprehension level in many aspects
of Christianity.
Believers who
read these stories aren't going to be swayed by such things any more than you will by the quoting
of Scripture (since you've already said that you believe it to be a book
of made up stories).

Scriptures for you, because I believe if you
read them,
not shuning away, like the time you said that someone gave you the «Gospel
of John», and you «couldn't
read it», because it said Jesus Christ is God's Son.

read other hypothesis given forth to explain things, before jumping to believe what a religious

read a sentence in the bible and look for meaning to understand it's meaning you need the context which is the entire bible.

reading Klaus Bockmuehl's book, Listening to the God Who Speaks: Reflections on God's Guidance from
Scripture and the Lives
of God's People, the conclusion one would have to draw is that if you're
not hearing God, you're deaf.
Until you can
read all
of the Old Testament in Hebrew and New Testament in Greek you have no authority to tell anyone what is or is
not twisted
scripture.

When we see things
not as we
read in the word
of God, we are to approach leadership, and show them Matthew 18:15 - 17 or whatever
Scripture we know is appropriate.

not read any

read, or even knew anything about the way

read your book first (its
not an expensive purchase) before launching into any detailed discussion or disagreement.It answers many
of the potential concerns people have and gets the reader to reflect very strongly on what they have been taught about the atonement and to put on a new set
of glasses when

While I do
not consider myself an expert on all the religious writings
of all
of the main religions in the world, I have
read most
of the main religious texts for most
of the main world religions, and while it is
not uncommon to find violent events being described in these other religious books, no other set
of religious writings comes even close to describing the violence and bloodshed that one finds within the pages
of the Hebrew
Scriptures.
I come to wonder, if what we
read out
of scripture needs a proper interpretation
of it following some basic principals to be in the proper context and we don't follow those simple rules, then what we interpret creates in our minds a false will
of God and we follow this so called «Gods will» are we going down the wrong path?
When
reading about the birth
of Jesus in
Scripture, many people do
not realize that Bethlehem was situated within a mile or two
of the Herodium, a huge palace fortress built upon a hill for King Herod, who had set himself up as the King
of the Jews.
Or the times when I go through the motions — caring for the poor, showing hospitality, fellowshipping with believers, praying,
reading Scripture, trying to live like Jesus — to find that there is redemption in the motions themselves, that taking a step
of faith does
not necessarily require a desire to move.
When I am told

I think that every Bible should have a big «STOP» sign on the first page along with that passage
of scripture letting the reader (or potential reader) know that this book is
not for everybody, but only for those that have been enabled by God to
read and understand it.
Wonderful teacher... get out your Bible and start
reading... this guy is a wolf in sheep's clothing leading millions to an eternity in hell... the prosperity gospel he teaches is contrary to the teachings
of Christ... Christ talked about abundance in life but he was speaking
of spiritual abundance
not material things...

not convinced
of his heavy emphasis on lots and lots

Hays also seems narrow when he encourages readers to
read the OT principally as narrative and
not as a «source
of oracles, prooftexts, or halakhic regulations,» apparently disqualifying many early Christian authors who cited
Scripture in this way.
