I just thought I would update this post to tell readers that I already received 2
spam comments, and I haven't even marketed this site yet!

In the early days of blogging I followed several that did
not, and eventually there was more
spam and angry / crazy people than there was legitimate
comments.
A site whose
comments are open is a rare thing (as long as you don't get ooodles of
spam offering strange and amazing growth results for minimal outlay....)
That is
not correct (see our reply above), we approve all
comments that are
not spam.
Believe me when I say that I knocked on plenty of doors & no one responded (one even removed my query from the
comment section, I was quite bewildered as it wasn't
spam & I didn't know why she would do that).
Please leave
comments containing 2 — 4 sentences that the folks at Google can't possibly mistake for

spam overload and have to be approved (by me)- so don't worry if your

Another thing — we don't accept

If I'm particularly offended by and / or receive several
comments in violation of the policy from a single commenter, all future
comments originating from that IP address will automatically be placed in my blog's
spam filter and I won't see them for moderation.
I approve all

Weirdly, these two examples link to sites that don't seem to exist, so I'm
not quite sure what their purpose is — normally,
spam comments try to send traffic to fake blogs («splogs») that make money through Google Ads or other contextual advertising.
Bonus points go to campaigns that leave «tips» or
comments on the discussion boards at various locations; but don't
spam.
E.politics passed a significant milestone this weekend, but it's
not one that I'm likely to celebrate: the site received its 100,000 th
spam comment.

spam, promotional in nature, or intended for back - link purposes will be deleted and the author banned from future

comment text and please use your PERSONAL name or initials and
not your business name, as the latter comes off like
spam.

Comments on older posts are moderated for
spam so won't show up immediately.

Since anyone can write a
comment on your profile it might be a bit annoying if the
comments are
not that nice or some kind of
spam is going on here.
Spamming an IP is dickish behaviour (as you may have guessed, I'm
not the slightest bit convinced you're separate people), but you clearly know the game well and have made informative
comments.

Other blog owners will dismiss a
comment as
spam based on the fact that the link does
not match the same industry as their blog.
It's amazing to think how much
spam comments we have to deal in our blogs if it wasn't for great anti-
spam plugins like Akismet and others!
I envision a system where once a book has X reviews or X sales or X
comments it gets manually vetted by someone to make sure its
not spam or trying to game the system and put it in the main book category.
