The 23rd annual Austin
Film Festival is now accepting applications for this year's
film competition in eight categories
including feature - length
narrative, short
film, and
narrative student short.
Inspired by «80s adventure
films like THE GOONIES and LEGEND and the big - screen work of Jim Henson and Ray Harryhausen, the
film has won a number of festival awards,
including the Slamdance Audience Award for Best
Narrative Feature.
The anticipated lineup of over 125
films will
include U.S. Dramatic and Documentary
Features, World Cinema, Premieres, Red Carpet Screenings and Studio Sneak Previews,
Narrative Shorts, the Animated Shorts Film Category, sponsored by Amazon Web Services and Intel, and Documentary Short Subjects.
The festival has 181
films set for its two - week run,

The four - minute visual work of art is a fully - immersive, 360 °
narrative experience set in the world of the upcoming
feature film The Divergent Series: Insurgent and
features stars from the
film including Academy Award winner Kate Winslet, Miles Teller and Mekhi Phifer.
A wide selection of
films reflecting contemporary society have been screened,
including alpine documentation, archival footage, adventure cinema, experimental shorts, commentaries, anthropological
