Managers know that they will find a number of Ph.D. scientists who have the
narrow technical skills they're looking for in specific opening, but they usually prefer to hire someone who has shown excellence in applying scientific skills rather than the Ph.D. who has a great depth of knowledge in a single
technical area.
Since this isn't a highly
technical approach, use your instincts, common sense and the advice of friends outside the industry to
narrow the list down to keywords that you feel a searcher in your
area would actually type into Google or Bing.
