Because if someone Googles your name and finds
nasty things written about you, your credibility could be destroyed in an instant.

I taught middle school art and I was
written up in my permanent record because a
nasty little boy took a postage size stamp picture containing a nude by a famous artist (2 dots represented the breasts so it was not graphic by any means) and added
nasty things to it.
I'm not saying that the
writing of the bible is
nasty, I'm saying that human beings use the justification of divine inspiration for all sorts of

Nasty Names — I don't usually
write controversial
things, but sometimes I see something that I must talk about.
I
wrote nasty things about it on Twitter.
From that experience I
wrote things like «we weren't impressed that the truck handled it all [I was referring to the
nasty Moroccan roads made worse from all the rain].
But I'm behind this whole
thing not having self published anything, and now I'm getting scared I can't comfortably offer more to publishers and just be hybrid because publishers are
writing up new
nasty contracts to grab everything to try and STOP self publishing.

nasty things have been
written about Taylor Swift, yet she's still attempting to sing.
They probably
wrote the review because they were angry at other
things in general or were in a bad mood, and they'll probably feel bad about it if you leave them a nice comment (if you can't track them down, you could just post a reply like that straight on Amazon — it will make you look awesome even to other readers who read the
nasty review and then your kind, polite response).
I also chose to
write a novel so that I could
write things the way I would like them to have been — there was some wish fulfillment, like the
nasty letters to annoying colleagues and arrogant doctors.
I know some people love to use social media to say
nasty things about celebrities, but if you care about your
writing career, you need to act like a grownup online — at least when using your author name.
There was a contact email at the end of the book and I
wrote him a note explaining why I thought it was such a
nasty thing to do, to young adults especially.
Writing your resume after a
nasty fight with your boss isn't the best way to approach
things.
