Vision —
National climate change learning activities are scaled - up through regional cooperation and experience - sharing.
The session was kicked - off by Mr. Daniel Abreu, from the National Climate Change Council of the Dominican Republic, who highlighted «the experience of developing
the National Climate Change Learning Strategy in the Dominican Republic during the pilot phase of UN CC: Learn was very positive».
As a concrete follow - up to the launch of
the national climate change learning strategy, a number of concrete priority actions will be implemented.
In particular, it lays out the process of developing a National Strategy to Strengthen Human Resources and Skills to Advance Green, Low Emission and Climate Resilient Development - or short «
National Climate Change Learning Strategy» - through cross-sectorial and multi-stakeholder collaboration, and with engagement of national education and training institutions.

The National Climate Change Learning Strategy will actually be an important piece of Ghana's national climate change response and will support Ghana's Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC).
UN CC: Learn held a 3 - day workshop to promote knowledge and experience sharing among its partner countries on the development and implementation of
their national climate change learning strategies.

While our focus here is on
national assessments, and in the United States in particular, the project of improving such assessments is an international one, with parallel efforts in other countries or regions (e.g. UK Committee on
Climate Change 2017, California's four
Climate Change Assessments12); the need for peer
learning between respective efforts is critical and often overlooked.
Since 2012 — in partnership with the
National Park Service and the Urban Ecology Research
Learning Alliance --- we have been hosting a
climate change communication paid summer internship program.
The report outlines the efforts of the UN CC:

We embraced this challenge because when we conducted the first - ever
national survey of TV weathercasters in 2010, we
learned that nearly half said they would like to educate their viewers about
climate change, but relatively few were doing so.
