I changed the original recipe, which used honey or maple
syrup and instead substituted stevia which is an all -
natural sweetener that is 100 times as
sweet as sugar.
While it is true that you will no longer be consuming sugary foods and
sweets — meaning no more sugar in its many forms (sugar cane, corn
syrup, honey, agave, maple sugar, etc.)-- there are some
natural sweeteners and fruits that will not have an impact on your blood sugar and ketosis goals.
So I decided to make my own less
sweet version using a
natural, unrefined sweetener — grade b maple
syrup — and it turned out beautifully!
These aren't rich cookies, and with only 2 tablespoons of pure maple
syrup in the whole batch and otherwise sweetened only with the
natural sugars in applesauce and banana, they aren't very
sweet either.

sweet, or you can also add a tablespoon of a
natural sweetener (e.g. maple
syrup or honey).

I added some chocolate chips to suit my fiance's very
sweet tooth, used no - salt added
natural PB, extra light virgin olive oil (was all I had on hand) and next time might reduce the maple
syrup a tiny bit.
