The front of the device has been kept uncluttered, featuring only a row of
navigation keys and a home
key that
find their place just below the display area.
There is a little bit of
navigation using the «volume
keys» and the «back button'to

The MediaPad M3's capacitive - touch
navigation key is
found where most tablets would place a home button and comes set as a
navigation key.
I really like the concept, though in practice I
found that it was often slower to use the Backtrack
navigation pad than to just use the arrow

The design language is very similar, and other than the size, the only noticeable difference is in the
navigation keys, with the Life 8 XL favoring on - screen soft
keys, as opposed to the capacitive buttons
found with the Life 8.
Capacitive
navigation keys are
found below the display up front, but in a rather strange move BLU switched the positions of the back and the Recent Apps
keys.
The bottom edge, beneath the
navigation keys, is home to a slightly off - centre microUSB port, a single microphone and a speaker that is very similar in style to the one
found on the iPhone 6.
There are no on - screen of capacitive

found on this device, and Meizu has quite an unique implementation in place.

With over a week of experience under my belt I only
found two unexpected software bugs — one where the capacitive
navigation keys were inexplicably enabled after a reboot (and subsequently back to normal after a reboot), and another where the on - screen «back»
navigation button would take a few presses to actually perform the intended action.
