If, while on a Trip, your checked baggage is delayed or misdirected by a Common Carrier for more than twelve (12) hours from Your time of arrival at a destination other than Your return destination, benefits will be paid, up to the Maximum Benefit Amount shown in the Schedule of Benefits, for the actual expenditure for
necessary personal effects.
Our plans also provide a Baggage Delay Benefit,
if while on your trip your checked baggage is delayed for 12 hours or more, to reimburse you for the purchase of
necessary personal effects while on your trip.
The insurer will reimburse the insured, up to the Maximum Limit shown on the Schedule of Benefits for the cost of
necessary personal effects purchased by the insured during the Trip,
if the insured's baggage is delayed or misdirected for more than 12 hours from the time the insured arrives at the Destination (other than the insured's return destination) provided the insured is a ticketed passenger on a Common Carrier and the delay or misdirection is verified by the Common Carrier.
Most travel insurance plans include a baggage delay benefit which provides reimbursement for
necessary personal effects including clothing, toiletries and other essential items,
if baggage is delayed or misdirected for more than 24 hours.
