you need an Infant Insert until the baby is large enough to sit in the carrier panel...
You don't even
need an infant insert to use this carrier with a newborn baby, and you can keep wearing it all the way up until three years of age with no trouble.
You can use it with your newborn without
needing an infant insert for safety purposes.
With the original
I needed the infant insert.
Premature babies or newborns on the small side might
need an infant insert as some parents have reported the head not being properly supported.
The downside is that with most SSCs, you will
need an infant insert if you want to use them from birth.
I'll be honest, originally, I did not think that
