But none of them gave enough attention to a matter I think should have been emphasized; namely,
the need for wholeness expressed in united, cooperative effort.
Roof claims that we have adopted a «reflexive spirituality» by necessity — deliberately cobbling together our own responses to
the need for wholeness and encouraging others in similar efforts.
The gains from differentiation are balanced against
the need for wholeness and variety in the development of personality.
Not exact matches
So the term agnostic or «Not Knowing» describes
for me the process of giving up the
need to know, so that I can take in the
wholeness of that moment of awareness.
A clergyman functions as a preacher when he proclaims Christ, the significance of Christ
for men, and the

for repentance and
for participation in the Church which is the setting

need «to make the ideas of
wholeness, interdependence, mutuality, more central.»
Similarly, the test of admission to a Christian university ought not be church membership, but the prospective student's
need for the kind of healing —
wholeness —
for which the university possesses special competence.
He must concentrate on the aspect of the gospel which may meet the
needs and illuminate the situation of his hearers, showing, from this initial point of contact, how the Lord whom we preach brings help to those who know themselves to be in
need of God's grace and how it may bring them into that
wholeness of life which it is Christ's will and the Church's responsibility to make available
for all the sons of men.
