This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety
of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style
of play has become a shadow
of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play
out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid
of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly
out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs
out wide, we've seen pace from the likes
of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play
of Monreal, but none
of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio
of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part
of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced
role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part
of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature
of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset
needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player
of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played
out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front
of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that,
of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one
of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one
of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already
of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs
of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack
of mobility is an albatross around the necks
of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because
of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
He is not Coquelin though in a sense that he isn't as extremely fast and mobile, and for that reason he
needs somebody like Rambo, who covers a lot
of ground and does his share
of running, while Chambers does his Arteta
role of screening the defence and passing
out of it.
Playing Ramsey in the holding
role occasionally could help him develop as a B2B player, learn what a holding CM
needs by experiencing it... Wenger likes to give players an education through experience... He put henry
out wide at Monaco, put Theo
out wide and now moving him into the middle, Ramsey played
out wide (and did at the end
of the season due to injuries) Wilshere has played
out wide...

The issue about Man United's LvG trial should not scare anyone from looking at our own strengths and playing through them — We are faster, we are younger, we are more technically adept and maybe we can implement this best... Remember guys a wingback is also a defender when the

I have no doubt Theo would have brought some much
needed pace and energy had he started in place
of Giroud, or better yet leave Ramsey
out move Cazorla back to his preferred
role in the center further back next to Coq (which would reduce the
need for Coq to attempt long range passes) and play Theo on his right wing spot and Ox on the left wing.
whatever you think
of ramsey... and in my books he is a decent b2b but certainly not top class... he is not going to control the area between edge
of box and centre line which is what all great DMs do... nor has coquelin proved that to me... he is a guttusso type player and has improved massively in that
role... not convinced it is what will take us to challenging for titles however which is why a cavalho type DM is a
needed addition especially as arteta and flamini are obviously not up to the task... but have always said that wengers job is to get best
out of ozil santi and wilshere who are the real creative world class strengths
of this squad... they
need protection behind them and options in front... at moment the real worry is that wenger will continue to use mertesakher at CB and fail to bring in quality striker... so the song remains the same... without quality DM and attacking option we will be trying to retain 3rd place and reach qf

We
need 1 defender for and tbh three midfielders we
need these as I think he will clear a lot
out we have one particular player who just can't do it he's always enjoyed great talent but just can not play but I would like to see and have a coaching
role of the club as a say is very very talented and we all know who is.
Khedira won the Champions League in May and then played a prominent
role in Germany's World Cup triumph over the summer and is therefore clearly a quality performer and perhaps the ideal man to balance
out the heaps
of midfield creativity at Arsenal with some much
needed defensive nous.
I want to see Wilshere play that linking
role between CM and attack, he is the only CM who can wriggle
out of a tight position and play a smart pass in our team and we really
need that type
of player alongside Xhaka.
Ozil
needs to be played more centrally if we hope to benefit from his creativity with the ball and Welbeck's first touch is far too sloppy to be played along side Lacazette... we
need to find a formation which allows more service to those making runs from the middle
of the pitch... Lacazette can not play so much with his back to goal or we're simply playing the same unsuccessful offensive scheme we played with Giroud, who is much better in that type
of role... I can only hope we keep Sanchez and purchase a true defensive midfielder then switch to a 4 -4-1-1, which allows us to have Ozil play more centrally with Sead and Sanchez on the left side and Ox and Bellerin on the right, which would stretch defences so much that we could overwhelm most opponents with both runs in behind and overlapping runs
out wide
We don't have time for him to adapt and settle back into his
role, we
need someone to grasp the position and be magician feeding the forward line as well as get us
out of tight spaces in defence.
Looking forward to himself coming back because we are only one injury away from taking Alexis
out of striker
role, we
need him to keep learning and to keep improving up there so we don't have to hear that no bloody Aguero up front thing anymore.
all
of which bring me to the
role of the fans at this critical juncture in our team's history, which is to look at the facts with a rational eye, make sure that the fat cats take responsibility for their decisions and to speak
out when the club is failing to pursue only the highest goals, especially when you're one
of the riches clubs in the world... so enjoy the victory, but temper those celebrations with the knowledge that one victory doesn't make a season and that to win this marathon you
need the prepare accordingly with the proper players, tactics and determined play... so the next two weeks are absolutely crucial if we intend to be contenders and not pretenders
No and no this is 3 defenders

I would go worth AMN over the
out of sorts Zhaka but we all know Wenger will never not play him and Ramsey. He
needs a smack round the head as he goes
out to remind him
of what his
role in the side is.Whoever is sitting there
needs concentration and commitment for the full game.
Wilshere has been injury prone but has been injury free for a good while now... Missing a friendly against holland is hardly a sign
of medical catastrophe so this is a massive overreaction... Wilshere is by a very long way the best
of the British stable at arsenal and on his day he is a top flight creative midfield play maker... Don't take my word for it ask xavi arguably the best ever in that
role... Since his return he has shown signs
of his best but not over 90 mins... But wenger has played him all over the place does not no how to combine him with ozil and miki and surrounded him with utterly hapless players like Ramsey and xhaka... He
needs a new manager to bring best
out of him I hope at arsenal but if the fossil stays he should go...
Yes ii agree the thought
of Kondogbia, Vidal, Schneirdelin etc is great but what Arsenal
need is a true
out and
out disciplined DM who can sit in that hole and destroy any potential attack... Cazorla, Ramsey, Wilshere, Arteta and even Ox when
need can play that CM
role...
At least according to The Liverpool Echo, who speaking in their
role of club mouthpiece today have come

of need for the club heading into the summer.
Although Mourinho has never been shy
of whipping
out the club's chequebook, he may not
need to when searching for a suitable long - term replacement for Carrick, as Herrera showed last season that he can be an invaluable presence in a deep midfield

You could bring Boga into Antonio Conte's team in one
of the wide attacking
roles in the 3 -4-3 formation and watch him flourish alongside Eden Hazard, say, but the tactical demands and the defensive work
needed would likely find him
out at this stage.
Whilst he has exploded
out of the traps this term, he
needs time to learn what it means to be a player
of the highest calibre with Forest, before moving to another club to assume the same
role at a higher level.
Just as Petr Cech must vie with David Ospina for a starting spot in goal, for instance, Mathieu Debuchy has to displace Hector Bellerin to re-establish himself as the first - choice right - back; Gabriel Paulista must fight past one
of Per Mertesacker or Laurent Koscielny to start at centre - half and Jack Wilshire faces the arduous task
of needing to take Mesut Ozil
out of the first - XI if he is to be afforded a starting berth in his favoured No. 10
role.
With colleges now opening for the fall term there's no better time for parents and college - bound children to talk about the
role the parent currently plays in the life

role will evolve so the child can build the skills she'll
