I remember Spring evoking similar events — new jackets and swampers when we were little (then duck
shoes when we were closer to 12), and the mud — everywhere — from the melting
snow and the not thawing fast enough ground... I
need to try to score some beets & carrots.

shoes may not be a tough find, but Vincent also has great options for boys, as well as a range of rain boots,
snow boots, sandals, and any type of footwear you might
need for your little one.
Your
shoes also
need to be able to stand the rain, and
snow in some places.
While admittedly I buy snowboots that may only get used once and more clothing than they really
need etc, we do talk about how when we were growing up our «
snow boots» were two pairs of socks and a plastic bag or we had two pairs of pants and one pair of
shoes to last the entire year.
I always wear trail
shoes for running in the
snow, but I
need Yaktrax for this unseasonably warm weather where the trails keep melting and refreezing... so slick and nasty!
Of course, suede and velvet
shoes — or any fabric
shoes for that matter — will
need protection against the rain... and
snow!
For the
snow shoeing class, you will
need your own
snow shoes or rent them from REI or Mountain Gear.
For fun I have a place to have all the stuff for the fun outdoor activities (sleds, snowball makers, snowmen accessories,
snow shoes etc...) I also bring out the bin of extra hats, gloves and scarves etcc for those who
need it.
