WHO: Oklahoma Alliance for
Animals is committed to reducing pet overpopulation
in Oklahoma and for the 8th consecutive year partnered with Spay Oklahoma during their February Hip to Snip campaign to subsidize high quality, low cost services to
needy families
in the Tulsa
area.
Dr. Charles Wood saw that small Charlottesville
area pet rescue groups had trouble raising funds and caring for the
needy animals in their charge, so
in 2005 he formed The Companion
Animal Fund.

Or you know... there are those of us who start and run 501 (c) 3
animal rescues for free
in our spare time away from our full time unrelated jobs and don't make excuses that we will do it when we retire or (better yet, my favorite * insert eye roll *) when we «win the lottery» I save HUNDREDS of senior, special needs, medically
needy, shy, plain and hospice
animals every year and find them forever homes I manage to do this while living
in the most expensive
area in the country, going back to school for another graduate degree and maintaining my other life responsibilities including my family and even other volunteer obligations.
We are the Kansas City Metro's most unique and comprehensive No Kill
animal welfare organization, serving more than 35,000
needy pets annually — more than any other agency
in the
area.
I'm grateful the place exists, and I hope the organization's story will inspire more rescue groups to operate pet food banks for the
needy people and
animals in their
area.
The Homeless
Animal Hospital vet team traveled to a very poor
area of Romania to help out a very
needy family that has 16 dogs
in their care.
Our staff rescues injured domestic pets and small wildlife
in our
area, coming to the aid of
needy animals 24 hours a day.
