much neostigmine is given, the symptoms produced are the same as insecticide poisoning.
If it is not effective, injections
of neostigmine (Prostigmin) will sometimes work.

Anticholinesterase agents (pyridostigmine or
neostigmine) are prescribed to enhance neuromuscular signal transmission.
Temporary relief is sometimes achieved with physostigmine,
neostigmine or treatment with picrotoxin.
One medication designed to do that is
neostigmine.
Drugs with similar effects to
neostigmine, rivastigmine (Exelon patch), which is used to treat human Alzheimer's disease and a similar drug, Donepezil (Aricept) also inhibit (lower) cholinesterase levels.
