Created in Fall
of 2013 by some
of Austin's most experienced businesswomen and entrepreneurs, Women @ Austin has grown into a hub for women to access mentors,
role models, and
networks critical for business success.
The introductory
networking session for the scholars on Monday afternoon was a fantastic way for students to meet their assigned mentors, who acted as guides,
role models and
network contacts; we learned
of the Crawford Fund programs and affiliated organisations such as RAID, ACIAR and Scope - Global who offer volunteering and post-graduate study opportunities overseas.
Think - tank Activities SOAAN will progress in stepwise fashion in order to develop the outputs mentioned above: Step 1) Review existing science and actions: An overview or survey
of the existing science on the topic, including a discussion
of the limitations
of scope, empirical data, and their reliability and applicability to the organic sector's understanding
of best practice; Step 2) Actors engagements: Identification in both public and private sectors
of the institutions and individuals active on the topic and their respective
roles and
networks, so that SOAAN and the organic sector then moves to engage them, along with think tanking activities; Step 3) Think tank: Development
of the
model, the strategy and promotional / advocacy tools through think tank efforts including piloting cases to gain experience and showcase practicability; Step 4) Synthesis: Publication
of the results, tools and recommendations.
Topics range from the history
of network theory and its effect on the development
of bioinformatics
modeling to broader ethical and philosophical considerations, such as data donation and curation, and the
role that genomic data should play in eliminating health disparities.
Jurgen Hebbink, one
of the researchers involved, points out that «Our

Again, as the school and
network scales, I'll be curious to see whether blended learning facilitates some
of this
role differentiation or if HHS sticks with a
model that keeps each teacher in charge
of every element
of each course.
Prior to these
roles, Devin taught social studies at ACORN Community High School, where she was selected as the
model instructional classroom teacher for a
network of 15 schools and led the rollout
of the school's first portfolio based assessments.
In this
role I also serve as (1) Director
of Innovative School
Models, including directing development
of the STEAM Academy in Lexington, (2) a consortium director
of the Center for the Advanced Study
of Technology Leadership in Education (CASTLE), and (3) a faculty director
of Next Generation Leadership Academy and
network.
This
network transforms status quo systems and approaches in education by sharing ownership
of the change efforts, engaging communities in defining and working toward success, serving as
role models for young people to pursue
roles with influence and risk, and accessing financial capital and power brokers to develop new solutions.
The Generation Schools
Network, a nonprofit that partners with schools and districts in New York and Colorado to launch new schools, has added up to 30 percent more learning time for students without increasing costs or teacher workload while simultaneously increasing the time for teachers to plan and collaborate.30 Through innovative school schedules that include three types
of teachers with dual
roles, teachers have up to two hours daily to plan lessons with their colleagues and receive coaching.31 Schools utilizing the Generation Schools
Model hire three different teaching teams for distinct teaching
roles and stagger the teams throughout the day and year to increase instructional time for students.
Some highlighted experiences from these
roles include teaching middle school math and special education, helping build KIPP's first regional blended learning
model, and supporting the scaling
of educational technology, blended learning, and personalized learning across the KIPP
network.
Below are just some
of these associations that can provide such an important source
of role models,
networks, and community support:
I did not have
role models in the profession or a
network of legal professionals to encourage me and show me that a career in law was possible for me.
This includes the promotion
of the many female
role models in the UK's tech space, facilitating intra-company mentoring
networks for women in the industry, and getting involved in internship programmes to ensure young people, including women, are exposed to the world
of tech from an earlier age.
Our newest program, Community Connections Youth Project (CCYP) is a voluntary, strength - based case management program for young adults who have aged out
of the foster care system without a a strong
network of positive / caring adult
role models in their lives.
As a manifestation
of the internal working
models of relationship contained within the narcissistic / (borderline) parent's attachment
networks, the narcissistic / (borderline) parent forms a
role - reversal relationship with the child, using the child as a «regulatory other» for the narcissistic / (borderline) parent's own emotional regulation.
Second, our findings provide support for the Convoy
Model's proposition about the mediating
role of support in the link between social
network structure and health.
If I achieved some measure
of balance, it's because I worked at it — but I was also fortunate to have good
role models and a great support
network.
