The same is true of case citations, I feel, I agree there should be a generic
neutral case name and citation, and a unique numeric identifier, so that case can be found easily.

In the
case of the Chinese
name, almost all national
names do not translate into Chinese, so the Chinese typically use a
neutral or flattering
name for a country that closely fits some description of the nation.
If you add parallel citations place them after the
neutral citation, which should immediately follow the
case name.
It seems to me that CanLII ought to be able to entail good alternative citations into its count of
cases that cite X, including Quicklaw citations; and I suspect that with a bit of work it should be able to catch the messed up
neutral citations, perhaps by running a double - check against the
case names.
Generally speaking, search warrants, wiretaps, and arrest warrants are investigative tools available only in criminal investigations, and in the absence of exigent circumstances, may only be issued upon a showing to a
neutral magistrate or judge, supported by a sworn statement showing that probable cause exists that a crime has been committed and (1) in the
case of an arrest warrant, that the person
named committed that crime, and (2) in the
case of a search warrant or wiretap, that the search or wiretap will reveal evidence of that crime.
Wherever possible read the report of the
case in the law report series which comes immediately after any
neutral citation or the parties»

The result is that the
case will have a different official
name, not just a different
neutral citation.
