but this
season he has no excuses, he's kinda victim of his own success, he made us into this european team who expected titles.when we constantly
never do it or compete in europe ppl call for his head so this window if he
buys no one, of course i will support but i will see it as a tremendous failure, and essentially he will have to pull off a
season long tactical masterclass.
ONE The squabble with fans over the last
season, when we did not
buy an outfield player until January, which left us short at the start of the
season, i think it had a telling effect on Wenger when the fans began protesting he seemed quite flustered, although i
never agreed with some of the behaviours, i do not think he would not want another episode.
I don't know... 3pl trophies in 20
seasons, no champions league, only made to final once in 18 CONSECUTIVE
seasons, not resected like fergie was in his time, has
never defeated jose mourinho even once in his lifetime even after maureen makes fun of him like hell (my God,6 - 0 in his 1000 game - > what a shame), an 8 - 2 loss at old trafford (only reason he
bought players otherwise that
season would have been hell), been rated as one of the wealthiest clubs but we still have mediocre first team players like giroud, welbeck etc (before u slam me first answer this - > would they get into bayern, barca, madrid, manure, mancity, psg or even chelsea starting 11 cz we rank the same with them financially)?????.....
If we start this
season with those two in our starting 11 it will be a clear sign from this organization that nothing has changed and that we will
never get it right until both Kroenke and Wenger are gone... neither one of these players should still be with our club at this point because they represent the settling half - measures that have plagued this team for a number of years... this is what I call the «no man's land» of the soccer world, where teams don't have enough talented young players, unlike a Monaco or Dortmund, because they have lost the plot from an organizational standpoint... they are so reliant on one individual to run the whole operation that their once relevant scouting department has become so antiquated that it can no longer find those hidden gems it once had... furthermore, when you leave all decision - making to a manager who despises any dissenting opinions, your management team becomes little more than a stagnant group of «yes men» and no new ideas emerge... so instead of developing a team with the qualities necessary to excel in a particular system, you continually make half - brain purchases year after year to stifle dissent from the ticket -
buying public, then try desperately to finagle together a lineup regardless of what would make positional sense... have you ever heard of a team who plays players out of position so often... of course not because that manager would likely be fired and
never work for a team of any consequence ever again
You're also probably the same guy that says Wenger will
never buy in January well guess what, he did this
season, and Gabriel is proving to be top quality unlike Mangala who cost 40m last summer.
He
never buys players with the intent of using them in their best positions, and always has to mess - around for
season - after -
season until they become rubbish.
XHAKA = ARTETA = FAILURE I said last
season to all my friends that Wenger has to sell xhaka and admit he was a mistake and
buy bakayoko but Wenger
NEVER admits or learns from his mistakes!
I said it start of last
season and same as most have if we do nt not
buy some stronger with quality players we will
never win oremier league again.
Cesc could have gone back to Arsenal after leaving Barca but Wenger did not
buy him back when he had him in a silver platter... there is a greater need for Cesc now with Santi, Jack and Rosicky out / poor form / retired than back then but Wenger should
never have allowed this transfer to happen for simply NOT letting Chelsea get stronger, we had enough room in the squad roster back then anyway and he could have sent Jack on loan that
season and common sense also said Rosicky was almost at the end of his career so Cesc would have played a lot anyway.
Mertz should
never have been our captain in the first place... who has ever heard of a team that makes 11th hour transfer
buys (Arteta & Mertz) then seemingly places those same individuals into prominent leadership positions from the get - go... indicative of the problems that have permeated our clubhouse for the better part of 7 years under the Kroenke & Wenger... what is wrong with the players chosen and / or the management style of Wenger that doesn't develop and / or encourage strong leadership from within... Mertz was the fine collecting lackey from year one... this is what happens when you don't get world - class players because many times they want to have a voice on and off the pitch and this can't happen when you play for a fragile manager who has developed a coddling wage structure where everyone is rewarded for simply wearing the shirt and participating in the process... not enough balance between performance and pay, combined with the obvious favoritism shown to some players regardless of their glaring lack of production... remember that Ramsey has played in positions that make no sense considering his skill - set (out wide) and has forced other players off the field or into equally unfamiliar positions with little or no justification (let's remember when you read articles about how Ramsey's goals this upcoming
season being the potential X-factor for our success that this is the same individual who didn't score a goal until the final week last
season)... this of course is just one example of many... before I hear another word from Mertz I want this club to address the fact that no former player of any real consequence has any important role in the management structure of this club, yet several former Gunners have expressed serious interest in just such an endeavor (Henry, Viera, Adams, Bergkamp... just to name a few legends)... there is only one answer: an extremely insecure manager!!!
You can get to any length to denigrate the club and manager but it will not take away the fact that alexis was
bought by wenger and is played by wenger as part of the 11 member starting line up, while Alexis has been exceptional the team is where it is collectively not by reasonin of one player, players can
never turn from being brillient to rubbish in a space of one
season, and that you need to start using your brain not that borrowed from the media.
In other news, our team seems to be rounding nicely into form, with a productive off -
season and several new additions already settling in, there seems to be a renewed sense of confidence in the air... our well - oiled machine has conducted business again early this year, so we can just sit back, kick our feet up and watch all those other suckers scramble to make panic moves in the 11th hour... of course, we need to tie up a few loose ends but our team of savvy negotiators, under the tutelage of our faithful leader, will perform their usual magic with ample time to spare... I have to laugh when I look around the soccer world and see all those teams look upon us with envy and scorn as they struggle to mimic our seemingly infallible business model... thank goodness the powers that be had the foresight and fortitude to resist the temptations of the modern football era... instead of listening to all the experts and simply taking the easy way out by making the necessary improvements on the field and in the front office, we chose the path
never traveled... we are truly pioneers in our field... sometimes you just have to have faith in the people that have always conducted themselves in a respectful and honest fashion... most fans aren't so fortunate, they will
never know what it's like to follow a team that treats everyone in and around the club as if they were an extended member of the family... all for one I say... so when you wake up this morning, please try not to gloat when you see rival fans pacing back and forth waiting for their respective teams to pull the usual panic
buys, just say nothing and be thankful that it isn't you... like I've always said, this is why you stay the course... this is when the real benefits of having someone in charge for over 2 decades really pays off... have a great day fellow Gunners
why was Sanchez truly playing... no one believes he was too injured to play to start the
season, and some like myself would go as far to suggest he wasn't injured at all... so why play him... they can't say it was to appease the fans because when was that ever a factor at this club except when «panic
buys» were in the offing... I believe that this was to give Arsenal a little leverage when it comes to negotiating his transfer... just imagine their horrible bargaining position if Sanchez
never saw the field before the deadline then heading back to South America and played for Chile... regardless of the facts, this was sadly again another example of a team putting business ahead of fielding a team with the greatest chance to secure 3 points... of course, some will say that Sanchez is, or was, our best player, so obviously he's a no - brainer to start, but those who really watch the game know that his heart hasn't been truly in it for quite some time... even at the end of last
season you could see a definitive difference between the Sanchez who played for Chile and the one that played for Arsenal... that being said, 70 % of Sanchez is still better than a 100 % of the vast majority of our remaining roster... shame on you Arsene and shame on you too Sanchez for that telling smirk... I've supported your attempt to push this squad to the next level but don't pretend for a second that you didn't know you were being watched... don't lower your standards or you'll end up like this club, on the outside looking in
Let's get real here.It is very unlikely that ANY professional player will ever say anything derogatory about a teammate that has just left the club.If Jack had said about Coq - «Grew up playing with him in the Youth Team and have fond memories of a player they though he had very limited ability he always gave his all.Very surprised and disappointed the club
never invested in a World Class defensive midfielder that we have quite obviously been lacking for a number of
seasons and would no doubt have improved the defensive weakness we have shown over a number of
seasons» we would have echoed his thoughts entirely. If he had said about Theo - «A player who should have been so much better than he ended up being. He had everything needed to be a prolific player for our club but I can understand the fans frustrations with his continued lack - lustre performances and total lack of a football brain.I think this is best explained by the managers preference to play a player of such limited ability as Alex Iwobi in front of Theo pretty much says it all» we again would have all nodded our agreement.Although Jack
never mentioned Alexis Sanchez I would imagine something along the lines of «If the Manager had not persisted with players with such limited ability such as Francis and Theo and instead
bought the world class players needed into the club then Sanchez would still most likely be here. The fans must wonder what the hell goes on at the club as they pay fortunes for the privalage of following our club but it seems the millions generated ends up purchasing a new Texas Ranch for the Owner or in a yearly renumeration of # 9million pounds to our manager».
Are some of you on here missing a few brain cells as fans There is nothing Arsenal or Wenger can do with the Sanchez situation He wants to leave and has been offered 400k a week in wages who in their right mind is going to turn that down as a player As for blaming wenger who has been our most successful manager helped us build a stadium gave us 20 years of cl football and some of the best teams the ol has seen Including the invincible and you all have the Gaul to trash the man as if he has done nothing for the club I suggest you should look at the plastic fans in the Arsenal blogs that have created a toxic atmosphere at the club They attack their own players in a daily basis why would any top player come to s club where the manager the owners and players are shamelessly attached constantly Yet Wenger wins trophies regularly even them that is derided Look at Spurs Liverpool they win fuk all every year yet their fans back then Look at yourselves and all the negativity that you have created striking the club before you blame Wenger for everything I have been a
season ticket holder since the 70s and
never have I seen our fanbase been so full of entitled morons who have stopped backing the club and constantly deride the club snd attack it We have the worst fanbase in football you have made this great club a lagging stock in world football All you now us fans constantly moaning If you don't like Arsenal fc then
buy out kronke and run the club or fuk off and support someone else You won't be missed Coyg
Wenger survived something only few could survive, the
season where we
bought Ozil, Wenger was on fire, and it was then or
never for him to leave, the end is known to us all.
Respect me as an arsenal
season ticket holder.I know 99 % of the cry babies here have
never seen the emarates live, fans who do nt
buy Match tickets how do they claim to support the club may be through good will.@ADMIN you hide some of our comments when we criticise the club positively yet you have space to quote the metro and other unreliable sources to make a point. No titles no progress
It's not the low point It's the high point of the
season for us
Never want to see my team lose but winning today would have papered over the cracks and
bought more time for AW Have the board got the minerals to act or is it all about the money, money, money At one point today I thought we might even win but then we kicked off and it all came to a. End
We didn't need a manager this
season if we're just gonna put out the same players that come 5th anyone could of done what wenger is doing it's easy I
buy lacazette then put he same team out from the same squad even when I have injuries it's easy just put out the rest of the squad and play them out of position I mean I'd take 8mil to do that oxlade at lwb kolansinac at cb elneny cm holding rcb there's no work of a manager there just put in players were others ain't ready to play then
buy nobody else and do interviews with the same excuses job done next game change some ppl around but same ppl that came 5th then sell Alexis do interviews same excuses job done transfer window closes fans wish they
never supported arsenal wenger laughing to the bank job done
If we make a bid for one player it does not mean we do nt want another player... thats called common sense by keeping options open Players are made available or put in transfer requests at various times during the
season and for many reasons... eg PSG
buy neymar for stupid money and so Barca noe have a huge pot to make bids for people previously unavailable and so on... At times it seems as though some of you have
never watched football before or a transfer window!!!
I'm
never in a position to
buy them, but playoff tickets, and World Series / Finals tickets in particular, do cost significantly more than a regular
season games.
Webeck was
never in Wengers long term plans until the board gave him Welbeck, Wenger only wanted to loan him for 12 months, that was the
season we had spent close to # 100 mil in total, sounds like Wenger wanted to save the money so we could
buy a world class CF in the next window...
If Wenger would use his transfer to
buy Lewandowski, i would say sell him but since that will
never happen we can keep him for a
season.
Welbeck kind of worked out for us but we should
never have
bought him when he has
never scored more than 9 goals a
season in his life, it was a wasted purchase imo and one that didn't benefit the club in the way a new striker is supposed to.
I would
never expect
season ticket holders to give up their tickets, due to the 50,000 waiting list and thus the difficulty of
buying back in.
I too also know that we look weak at the back but i also believe they have learnt from there mistakes last
season and have a stronger unity this
season going into the 3rd
season with the team wenger has put together without losing key players and adding real Quality and world class that i havent seen before because none of our history says we
bought our trophies we won them with all the unexpected beliefs and
never bought into the society and modern game we seen before us not one of our legends were already labelled for they are today before they came to us The made a name for themselfs in our Jersey and build a foundation of what we represent today Before Arsene Wenger and with him We are a club that overachieve and under promise Everything we've done has be our very own unique way of doing it not the way other clubs are ahiceving i for one will not Follow the Man City's ambitions Chelseas Manchester united or anyone elses
He acted accordingly by breaking our spending record on Ozil, but we
never did that
season buy the world class striker we had been promised.
I admire your Optimism truly
never loose it, however ist it better to be optimistic where there is genuinely change as opposed to the same old same old we get with Arsene and the board, our last 7 Premier league
seasons I virtually carbon copies... I mean if you where to
buy a DVD copy of Arsenals last 3 premier league
seasons you'd be waisting your money...
Wenger isn't perfect but please keep in mind that the team he has now is made up of many panic
buys from the board, just need to look at last
season and how Wenger wanted Lacazette but the board
bought Perez who
never had the trust of the manager.
With the way our team is setup a world star striker can score 35 - 40 goals per
season (watch the 2nd leg of our match against barca again), but mr bean will
never buy.
He got through the 1983
season without conceding much more than how «amazing» it was that «Danny» (ahem) got sacked only 10 times and threw just six interceptions in 306 pass plays, and despite his inexperience was «
never indecisive,» even in the face of man - eating red - dogs and the best secondary schemes and ploys money could
buy.
Time for some brutal honesty... this team, as it stands, is in no better position to compete next
season than they were 12 months ago, minus the fact that some fans have been easily snowed by the acquisition of Lacazette, the free transfer LB and the release of Sanogo... if you look at the facts carefully you will see a team that still has far more questions than answers... to better show what I mean by this statement I will briefly discuss the current state of affairs on a position - by - position basis... in goal we have 4 potential candidates, but in reality we have only 1 option with any real future and somehow he's the only one we have actively tried to get rid of for years because he and his father were a little too involved on social media and he got caught smoking (funny how people still defend Wiltshire under the same and far worse circumstances)... you would think we would want to keep any goaltender that Juventus had interest in, as they seem to have a pretty good history when it comes to that position... as far as the defenders on our current roster there are only a few individuals whom have the skill and / or youth worthy of our time and / or investment, as such we should get rid of anyone who doesn't meet those simple requirements, which means we should get rid of DeBouchy, Gibbs, Gabriel, Mertz and loan out Chambers to see if last
seasons foray with Middlesborough was an anomaly or a prediction of things to come... some fans have lamented wildly about the return of Mertz to the starting lineup due to his FA Cup performance but these sort of pie in the sky meanderings are indicative of what's wrong with this club and it's wishy - washy fan - base... in addition to these moves the club should aggressively pursue the acquisition of dominant and mobile CB to stabilize an all too fragile defensive group that has self - destructed on numerous occasions over the past 5
seasons... moving forward and building on our need to re-establish our once dominant presence throughout the middle of the park we need to target a CDM then do whatever it takes to get that player into the fold without any of the usual nickel and diming we have become famous for (this kind of ruthless haggling has cost us numerous special players and certainly can't help make the player in question feel good about the way their future potential employer feels about them)... in order for us to become dominant again we need to be strong up the middle again from Goalkeeper to CB to DM to ACM to striker, like we did in our most glorious years before and during Wenger's reign... with this in mind, if we want Ozil to be that dominant attacking midfielder we can't keep leaving him exposed to constant ridicule about his lack of defensive prowess and provide him with the proper players in the final third... he was
never a good defensive player in Real or with the German National squad and they certainly didn't suffer as a result of his presence on the pitch... as for the rest of the midfield the blame falls squarely in the hands of Wenger and Gazidis, the fact that Ramsey, Ox, Sanchez and even Ozil were allowed to regularly start when none of the aforementioned had more than a year left under contract is criminal for a club of this size and financial might... the fact that we could find money for Walcott and Xhaka, who weren't even guaranteed starters, means that our whole business model needs a complete overhaul... for me it's time to get rid of some serious deadweight, even if it means selling them below what you believe their market value is just to simply right this ship and change the stagnant culture that currently exists... this means saying goodbye to Wiltshire, Elneny, Carzola, Walcott and Ramsey... everyone, minus Elneny, have spent just as much time on the training table as on the field of play, which would be manageable if they weren't so inconsistent from a performance standpoint (excluding Carzola, who is like the recent version of Rosicky — too bad, both will be deeply missed)... in their places we need to bring in some proven performers with no history of injuries... up front, although I do like the possibilities that a player like Lacazette presents, the fact that we had to wait so many years to acquire some true quality at the striker position falls once again squarely at the feet of Wenger... this issue highlights the ultimate scam being perpetrated by this club since the arrival of Kroenke: pretend your a small market club when it comes to making purchases but milk your fans like a big market club when it comes to ticket prices and merchandising... I believe the reason why Wenger hasn't pursued someone of Henry's quality, minus a fairly inexpensive RVP, was that he knew that they would demand players of a similar ilk to be brought on board and that wasn't possible when the business model was that of a «selling» club... does it really make sense that we could only make a cheeky bid for Suarez, or that we couldn't get Higuain over the line when he was being offered up for half the price he eventually went to Juve for, or that we've only paid any interest to strikers who were clearly not going to press their current teams to let them go to Arsenal like Benzema or Cavani... just part of the facade that finally came crashing down when Sanchez finally called their bluff... the fact remains that no one wants to win more than Sanchez, including Wenger, and although I don't agree with everything that he has done off the field, I would much rather have Alexis front and center than a manager who has clearly
bought into the Kroenke model in large part due to the fact that his enormous ego suggests that only he could accomplish great things without breaking the bank... unfortunately that isn't possible anymore as the game has changed quite dramatically in the last 15 years, which has left a largely complacent and complicit Wenger on the outside looking in... so don't blame those players who demanded more and were left wanting... don't blame those fans who have tried desperately to raise awareness for several years when cracks began to appear... place the blame at the feet of those who were well aware all along of the potential pitfalls of just such a plan but continued to follow it even when it was no longer a financial necessity, like it ever really was...
If you gonna take this attitude I've Better off supporting another team which I'll
never do but putting it this way if you are so bitter about management of arsenal it's not arsene who
bought the club, what of Tottenham who as yet to sign a player they came second and we were second two
seasons ago yet arsene and the management got some abuse and derision from some of our fans, this has to stop ✋ people or we drive some better players signing for us because it's not only the money for a few of the better player's out there
I was fully behind Wenger right up till this
season... was annoyed with fans saying that i loved Wenger more than my club... i
never let it get to me as i believed that Wenger was ready to spring to life as soon as the funds where sorted and that hed start
buying players similar to the ones of old.
Wenger refuses to
buy top players every
season, when I say top players i mean established ones who do nt choke when the spotlight is on them, when you raise all your players from a young age and
never win anything big, how the hell are they meant to have the right personality to win big things??
Admin yes your right but we are always short somewhere every
season and lets not forget we have
bought a few defenders but all not up to scratch (Mustafi, Chambers, Holding, Gabriel, Debuchy, Mertesacker ect...) but at least after RVP left we
never had such good strikers as we have now late but its a good thing, i believe we have great creative attacking midfield but we have
never replaced Viera, Adams, Campbell or Seaman, i wanted arsenal to
buy VVD when he was at Celtic why i can see that and our top professionals at the club can not?
This is why I believe Wenger will
never buy a player that is up and coming, known to all and has come off the back of a hot
season.
Why is it shocking, they won all trophies so they didn't have to
buy because they didn't sell any top player but they still
buy two players to strengthen their squad so why haven't we who struggle all of last
season and manage 3rd but all
season never able to challenge for the title.
