To be brutally honest, the minor additions of camera control and
Amiibo jet
unlocks feel less like a
new full release deserving of a
new price, and more like an update deserving of DLC.
Amiibo support can be utilised straight off the bat, allowing
New Nintendo 3DS owners to
unlock rupees and weapons every time they plop a plastic mascot on their system's touchscreen.
The in - game Wii U console
unlocks the former, while the latter is
unlocked by finding a Nintendo 3DS XL or a
New Nintendo 3DS, all of which can be obtained via fortune cookies at the Nooklings» shop, or by scanning any of the 16 Animal Crossing

Alongside the DLC will be a free update to Mario Kart 8, adding the

new challenge stages that... ahem... challenge players» mastery of various knightly skills, and cute little helper fairies — well, if you can call a ghastly little imp wielding a big ass scythe cute.
The
amiibo appear to
unlock new abilities for Kirby to use, but whether these are exclusive or not is yet to be seen — the Boxboy ability looks like it might be a reskin of the Bomb ability so it's entirely possible they're just aesthetic differences.
