I would encourage
new moms to go to la leche league meetings (or some other good support
group) before
baby is born and then meet with a lactation consultant in the first few days to make sure you get off to a great start and prevent problems.

baby arrives,
new parents are invited back to share their birth stories and a potluck lunch with the
group at our quarterly Return Gatherings.
Many areas also have a range of local mother and
baby groups and coffee mornings, while activities such as
baby massage, signing, yoga and music classes are also great places to meet that
new BFF.
Breastfeeding can also be particularly difficult for a survivor of sexual abuse, so midwives will compassionately assist
new mothers with education, make sure the
baby is latching properly, and help them find an ongoing support
group.

group and practising there.

new state, far from family and friends, and one of the first in our

baby, I definitely felt like a rookie.
The second
group was taught about bedtime fading, a
newer sleep technique where parents picked the time they'd like for their
baby to fall asleep, and then pushed that time by 15 minutes for a few nights, and then another 15 minutes for a few nights after if their
baby was still struggling to fall asleep.
