It was similar to
continuous brew in that I rarely handled the SCOBY or starter, and just left what was in there for the
new batch (which for me is a lot more than the 10 % starter liquid a lot of recipes call for)..

new high quality SCOBY from Hannah, plus HPB loose tea leaves instead of tea bags... WHAT A DIFFERENCE this tea has made in the taste of the kombucha!
Furthermore, the caffeine reduction appears to be largely related to «starving» the culture for many days (not adding any
new sweet tea mixture to the ferment), and thus would probably have a negligible effect on the caffeine content in a
continuous brew that was drawn down more than twice per week.
I love that I can adjust the temp when I add
new tea to my
continuous brew container because it drops the temp when adding
new tea / sugar solution.
