There is another twist on the rapture theory, and that is that the people taken could be going to some awful place, and the people left behind could be part of
the new creation of Earth that is promised.

of affairs and it is God's mission in which the whole
creation, including the Church, participates.

The Gospel story continues with Jesus creating a
new people
of God in the church, which continues to accomplish the mission

earth now, and in eternity to all

While the old testament and the bible (as in the
new testament) refer to the
creation of the heavens and
earth (as well as the Quran for Muslims), I find it humbling that the Quran went even further to attest to the WAY this
creation took place (in other words the Big bang theory is a testament to this verse).
And we shall see that the transformation
of the
earth, its
new creation, is not solely a reorganization
of its social and technical aspects nor just the institution
of new political and economic relationships among people; it is also a profound spiritual metamorphosis
of mankind, a revolution.
And when I write «the complete chain
of events» I mean the complete chain, beginning with God eternal love for humanity, including the
creation of mankind and their subsequent fall, and going through God's calling
of Israel, His work through them during their checkered history, the birth, life, ministry, death, resurrection, and ascension
of Jesus, and looking forward to the return
of Jesus and the
new heavens, the
new earth, and our eternal existence with God.
Fulfilling the profound need for unity which pervades the world, and crowning it with renewed faith in Christ the Physical Centre
of Creation; finding in this need the natural energy required for the renewal
of the world's life; thus do I see the
New Jerusalem, descending from Heaven and rising from the
Earth.

earth in the beginning, and to the
new heavens and the
new earth at the end.
On a Trinitarian approach, we understand that we and the world exist in the broader context
of the economy
of salvation: we should expect to see imperfections and evil, both because we ourselves are fallen observers, and because we are observing a «groaning»
Creation, in transition from a lost Paradise to «a
new Heaven and a
new Earth».

of judgment rise in a universal flood, as if God intends to wipe the
earth clean, starting over again with a
new creation.
With feminist theologians and advocates

of divinely intended order over all that threatens to inhibit it.
