When revolutionary French artist Marcel Duchamp (1887 - 1968) debuted his transgressive 1912 Cubo - Futurist painting «Nude Descending a Staircase, No. 2» at the 1913 International Exhibition of Modern Art (now known as The Armory Show) in New York, its reputation preceded it.

In a new painting by Borna Sammak, Pool Party (2018), executed in heat - press vinyl and embroidery, the dignity of the nude comically evaporates: an undressed man urinates before a backdrop of cut - out scenery.
In his new series, Kauper takes on one of the greatest artistic traditions, the painting of the female nude.

The introduction of new types of art, for instance - such as Performance, Happenings and Installations - along with new subject - matter - including things like dead sharks, dying flies, huge ice - sculptures, crowds of nude bodies, buildings that appear to be in motion, a collection of 35,000 terracotta figures, islands wrapped in pink polypropylene fabric, painted bodies, spooky projected imagery on public buildings, and so on - have provided spectators with a range of new (sometimes shocking) experiences.

In these new paintings, his subjects include nudes, palm trees, a window, a man on a lawn, unidentified portraits, and the artist's studio.
