In the Australian state of Victoria, the law was reformed in 2014 to create a defence for young people who engage in consensual sexting and the introduction of
the new offences of distribution of an intimate image, and threat to distribute an intimate image.
Several
new offences relating to the making or selling of realistic imitation guns have been introduced and the maximum sentence for carrying an imitation gun in public without reasonable excuse has doubled from six to 12 months.
