The apps are designed to show a few things: how easy it is to
port apps to BB10 from other platforms, how flexible RIM's developer
tools are, and most importantly how the
new Cascades framework gives developers a way to create apps that match the look and feel of BB10.
RIM is also offering a suite of
tools «Sandbox» for Android developers that will allow them to easily
port their existing apps to the PlayBook for distribution through BlackBerry App World, providing a
new opportunity for many developers to reach BlackBerry PlayBook users.
Microsoft is hoping to change their minds now though; it has
new developer
tools that make it easy for developers to
port their apps from iOS and Android.
While all these
new tools for creating apps for Windows 10 will result in more
new apps published in our Store, the question is whether more developers will be interested in making native Windows apps or they will just choose to
port their existing code and adapt the apps to use some Windows features.
