MANUAL DIGITAL features the works of eight national artists who have developed
new visual languages by embracing digital tools in their primarily analog work.

New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, and Sao Paulo, where a unique
visual language or attitude has evolved.
«Modernity» focuses on the development of ink art in the 20th century; «abstraction» recognises artists who create their own
visual language; «emerging» promotes
new concepts
by galleries and their
new artists; «salon» examines the effect that
new media is having on the genre in the 21st century; and «co-curation» unites different participants in the art industry with dynamic programmes promoting ink art.

Entitled Iconic, the presentation at The Art Show will mark the debut of these intimately scaled portraits which use the
visual language and gestures of 15th century icons to depict contemporary subjects selected
by Wiley from the streets of
New York City.
Works
by four pioneering artists who, though active in different places and periods, developed similar
visual languages, are brought together for the first time to shed
new light on 20th - century abstract art.
With his peer, Neo Rauch, they were on the forefront of a
new movement known as The Leipzig School, whose
visual language is characterized
by both a strong narrative quality and a mastery of the brush.

by architects Jack Lynn and Ivor Smith between 1957 - 61, it investigates the materiality and
visual language of post-war landscapes through an immersive, climbable and conceptual landscape.
Featuring some of the most impactful posters, printed matter, films and art from the Stedelijk's collection, including films
by Russian directors like Sergei Eisenstein and Dziga Vertov, and posters in the
new Constructivist
visual language, the show highlights how crucial artists were to the communists» attempts to recreate society.
Personified
by his iconic painting Black Square, this bold
new visual language was, and still remains for many, the ultimate expression of purity and universality.
Inspired
by his travels to California and the Sierra Nevada mountains, particularly the headwater areas of the Kern and Merced rivers, the
new works echo the rivers» geological shapes in abstracted form, in a
visual language the artist created.
In tackling these themes, a
new visual language began to emerge, represented in this exhibition
by the choice of participating artists.
Featuring video works
by the likes of Harun Farocki, Hito Steyerl and Mark Leckey, Dream Factory explores «various modes of examining
new forms of labor, consumption - as - production, and the aesthetics and
visual language of globalized lifestyles».
