in a player - versus - player type of game - the devs will monitor how users are playing this mode to see if there's some tweaks they can throw
in - more Salmon Run maps will be added
in the
future, but Nintendo wouldn't comment on adding more enemy types to the mode - rewards are changed each time Salmon Run is played - you can obtain rewards when playing locally, but not gear - originally Nintendo had an idea for this mode, but had no background setting, enemy designs, etc. - Inoue suggested that it should be salmon - themed - when Nintendo hosted the Splatfest that pit Callie against Marie, the development of Splatoon 2 had started - the devs had already decided to have the result reflected
in the sequel - they even had an idea to announce the Splatfest with a phrase «Your choice will change the
next Splatoon» - the timing to announce a sequel wasn't right, so they decided against this - they eventually released a series of short stories about the Squid Sisters to show how the Splatfest affected the sequel's story - Nintendo wouldn't say if Marina is an Octoling, and noted that Inklings are not paying attention to this too much - Inklings don't care about appearances, as long as everyone is doing something fresh - the Squid Sisters had composers who produced their songs, but Off the Hook are composing their music by themselves - Pearl is genius artist, but she couldn't find a right partner because she's a bit too edgy - she eventually found Marina as a partner though, and their chemistry is sparkling right now - Nintendo is planning a year of content
updates for Splatoon 2 - when finished, the quantity of stages will be more than the original - some of the additional stages are totally new and some will be arranged stages from the first game - not all original stages will return and they are choosing stages based on the potential for them to be improved - Brella is shotgun-esque weapon, so the ink hits your opponent more if you are closer - it can shield damage when you open it, but the amount of damage has a limit and once it reaches it, it breaks - you can shoot ink, but you can't use the shield feature when it breaks - the shield won't prevent your allies ink - there are more new weapon categories which haven't been revealed yet - there are no other ranked modes outside of the three current options - the
future holds any sort of possibility, but the devs didn't get specific about adding more content like that - for the modes, they adjusted the rule designs so that players will experience the more interesting aspects
Nintendo will host their
next Nintendo Direct presentation this week, 2K Games has unveiled the new Cavs-less cover for NBA 2K18, and the Switch might be getting an Achievement / Trophy system
in a
future update.

With development of the Fall Creators
Update slowly winding down, it's time to look to the
future and talk about what we're hoping to see
in Microsoft's
next version of Windows 10.
Deciphering Google's blog post on the subject feels like it requires a degree
in Computer Science, but
in short, it appears Google is changing how the core framework of Android works so that it can push big
future updates, like the
next iteration of Android, Android O, to phones without waiting on phone carriers or phone designers to do it.
For a company that has an already poor reputation when it comes to rollout speeds, this is going to come as a big blow for fans; even if Samsung does implement support
in the
future, it won't matter much unless this happens before the Android 9.0 or Android P rollout, which will be the
next major
update that S8 owners are likely to care about.

Details of a notification center and virtual assistant codenamed «Cortana» have long been rumored for
future versions of Windows Phone, and a new report claims they'll both be coming
in the
next major
update to Microsoft's mobile operating system.
There is no official word on any
future Android 4.4.4 KK OTA
Update release, but we should expect it to arrive
in the
next few months.
Essentially, what that means is that
future Android devices running the
next version of Google's mobile OS will be able to download and install software
updates in the background without interrupting your use of the phone.
The HTC U12 will release with Android Oreo 8.0, with the Sense 10 overlay, but more interesting is that the phone comes with full support for Project Treble, with seamless A / B partition based
updates: this means that if your phone is running the OS on partition A, it will install any
future update in partition B
in the background, and the
next time you reboot, the phone will boot from partition B, giving you immediate access to new features
in place of an extended period of waiting for your phone to finish
updating.
