next prenatal
appointment, your doctor or
midwife may want to perform an internal vaginal exam, to check your cervix for signs of dilation and effacement.
Remember that pain caused by your baby's movements is unlikely to be a cause for concern, however if the pain is severe and lasts for a while (even after trying the above methods) or if you have other symptoms, then be sure to contact your
midwife or bring it up at your
next antenatal
appointment.
Your
midwife will regularly check your blood pressure at antenatal
appointments and if they discover you have high blood pressure they will advise you on what to do
next.
Like many women, you might be back at your OB or
midwife's office
next week for your second prenatal
appointment.
