If you already have
points with JetBlue or Southwest, or have a stockpile of Ultimate
Rewards points on hand, using them toward an award flight can be a
nice use, but the cash cost is low enough that it's not worth applying for a new card specifically for the purpose of paying for flights.

nice thing about Amex is that all of its Membership
Rewards cards allow you to transfer
points to any of its 17 airline partners, including Delta, Hawaiian Airlines, JetBlue, Virgin America, Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, Air France / KLM, Alitalia, Aeromexico, Air Canada, ANA, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Etihad, Singapore Airlines, El Al, and Iberia.
This can give anyone a

Joanna and I don't have particularly large IHG
Rewards balances (mainly because our recent Accelerate promotions have been terrible) but we have enough
points between us for a good - length stay at a very
nice InterContinental hotel wherever in the world we wish to go... but we won't be using
points on our next IHG stay.

nice but you can't bank those
rewards points up for a future trip.

As an added incentive, most of these credit cards come with healthy signing up bonuses (usually in the region of 30,000 — 50,000 miles /
points) which will put you well on the way to a

Chase really couldn't have made the transfer of Ultimate
Rewards points to airline loyalty programs any simpler (another reason I like Chase as much as I do) and the fact that most transfers are instantaneous is a
nice bonus — no anxious wait hoping that the award (s) you want to book are still available when the transfer finally comes through.
IHG
Rewards members now have access to a lot of new (and often very
nice) properties and, while that's technically the same for Karma members, I can't help but feel that they're being a little stiffed on the nights stayed to IHG
points conversion.
American Airlines has announced a very
nice promotion whereby travelers can earn 20 % more miles when they convert their Marriott
Rewards points to AAdvantage miles and it was while I was researching that promotion that I noticed something a little odd.
Having the option to transfer
points over to Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer is a
nice bonus as Singapore Airlines has a habit of offering better award availability to its own
rewards program members than it does to members of its airline partners» programs (United MileagePlus, Lufthansa Miles & More etc...)
There's a
nice double offer available right now on stays at MGM resorts and these should stack very nicely — spending $ 500 will see you get $ 50 cash back and you'll earn 7,500 Membership
Rewards points which I value at around $ 112 (1.5 cents per
point).
And since this card earns cash back everywhere, it could be a
nice companion to another
rewards card that may earn a higher rate of cash or
points on certain categories.
If you have at least two stays coming up with Best Western then this is a
nice offer to take advantage of if you don't earn Best
Rewards points (see below):
I value World Of Hyatt
points higher than most of the other hotel loyalty
points on offer (I value Starpoints highest) and, thanks to generous category bonuses on the Chase Sapphire Reserve and Chase Ink credit cards, I find it reasonably straightforward to gradually build up enough Ultimate
Rewards points for some very
nice redemptions.
The other two benefits don't affect me but its
nice to see the «
point advances» being officially recognised in the Marriott
Rewards program.
All this helps me build up a healthy Chase Ultimate
Rewards points balance which I then convert to Hyatt
points when I want to stay somewhere
nice without paying a fortune.
Having a true cash +
points system will be a
nice option to have when redeeming Marriott
Rewards points but I'll wait and see just how expensive being a
points discount will be before I get too excited about this option.
That's a
nice perk for earning
points, but it doesn't help you when purchasing
reward travel.

nice to have» industry (i.e. not a necessity) they
reward loyal customers by dishing out big mile or
point bonuses.
