I definitely agree, natural lighting really is the key — I really like using bright and colourful place mats to liven mine up, but do love the simplicity that nice white table or wooden surface has on the piccie.

Now I have 17m of very pretty white and grey braid that will probably become a bath mat in the very near future:) Not a total disaster, but I'm just not willing to dedicate the next 3 months to braiding fabric in the hopes that it * might * make a nice rug (which definitely isn't guaranteed even after all that braiding!).
