If you're saying no TV right
before bed one
night only to cave in the next evening, you are sending a clear message to your child that the rules don't
mean much, don't need to be respected, and can easily be changed.
This can
mean waking baby to feed
before you go to
bed, or even waking baby in the middle of the
night for a quick feeding.
I started saying yes to my own self - care, which
meant saying no to friends who wanted to spend time together on
nights before classes and saying yes to being in my
bed by at least 10 p.m. Ultimately, my side hustle changed the narrative of showing up for myself.
Mind you, this doesn't
mean I'm advocating for you to have a slice of chocolate cake each
night before bed.

means you either have to take it first thing in the morning and then not eat anything for two hours, or take it at
night, at least two hours after your last meal...

Depending on your lifestyle and whether or not you tend to forget to plug your tech in every
night before bed, the ability to go several days on a charge could
mean you ultimately get more use out of your smartwatch.
This
means that you can't simply apply Bengay to your dog's sore muscles
before bed at
night.
This
means not playing with your dog when you take them out at
night to pee
before bed or when you take them out during the middle of the
night.
I
meant to play it for only a few minutes last
night before going to
bed, but I wound up being up until 1:30 a.m. playing the thing when I was going for a 30 - mile bike ride in the morning.
This could
mean scheduling bath time at the same time each
night or settling onto the couch for story time
before bed.
However,
before bed is not really a good idea as this
means that they are left with their own thoughts through the
night, not the best time to digest such news.
Checking in with them might just
mean giving them a warm embrace to show them you care, or giving them a massage
before bed at
night, or asking if they have anything they need to get off their chest.
And when I say small pretty project, I don't
mean whipping out the power tools to put together a barn wood wall
before bed that
night.
