Eventually you'll want to wean your baby from
nighttime feedings so everyone can get long stretches of sleep.
He never went through the pooping at every feeding stage which made

so smart that she knows if she
feeds more at night, she helps to build your milk supply and takes in more calories during

Just be sure to speak with your child's pediatrician if you do this
so that you can tell if your baby is still getting plenty of nutrition throughout the day and during regular
nighttime feedings, too.
So once those
nighttime feedings lessen, I would move your baby to the crib in their room.
So when can I drop that second
nighttime feeding?
If you breastfeed, consider expressing
nighttime bottles
so that your partner can take a
feeding or two.
But when you better understand what makes your baby cling
so much to a
nighttime bottle, you'll be one step closer to learning how to wean baby from night
feeding altogether.
So having a bassinet or play yard with a newborn insert was a great solution for all of the
nighttime feedings.
Set up a
nighttime routine bath, massage, book, song, swaddle,
feed etc. and put down awake
so they can learn to self soothe.
Most babies struggle with giving up the
nighttime feeding,
so work on the daytime
feedings first.
Two problems can appear:
nighttime waking and development of negative associations with sleep (as when your baby gets used to depend on rocking or
feeding, as a prerequisite to sleeping)-- this is usual as for newborns
so for older children.
The
nighttime feedings can feel
so isolating.
Say until your daughter starts dropping some of the
nighttime feedings, you need to work out a system
so that your wife is getting support and you're not falling asleep behind the wheel.
