Ninja Theory hopes to define Hellblade by its focus on deep character development within the confines of a «twisted world with brutal, uncompromising, combat.

In an effort to «spice up» the combat — and borrow from games like God of War — Team Ninja has incorporated quick time events in a major way.

That's not to say combat is bad, because it's really not — Ninja Theory have experience in crafting fine combat systems in their adventures, and it's the same with Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice.

Fans are unhappy because Ninja Theory turned an intricate combat system near the complexity level of a fighting game into something that was quite literally a shell of its former self.
