For me, negative feelings arise whenever my son decides that he has to
twiddle, play with, pat, or otherwise touch my other
nipple while he is nursing.

twiddling of the other
nipple can be very weird / irritating can't it).
Newborns keep their hands lying by their side or next to their face... toddlers
twiddle the other
nipple or pull at your hair / ears / mouth etc..
How about
twiddling your
nipples instead?
