As far as links are concerned, having somebody put you up on their blogroll or doing a guest post on a site is of much greater value than blog comments which are
nofollow links (don't pass much link juice).
I love Squarespace for so many reasons, but one of those reasons is not because they make adding «
nofollow links» so easy.

link is dofollow,
nofollow or redirect, just as long as it sends new visitors to your website, the
link is good.
They way you actually create a no follow
link is to go into your text editor and add a rel
nofollow to all of your sponsored backlinks.

With the help of LinkAssistant, you can easily check if the
links are still in place, have the right anchor text are dofollow or
nofollow.
Even if your blog uses the default setting of «
nofollow «on
links in comments [see my article on why you need to remove
nofollow] your blogroll doesn't.
Because Wikipedia uses
nofollow tags, external
links do not alter search engine rankings.
I'm consistently amazed at how well this works, even though almost all of these
links are
nofollow.
In the case of youtube all
links are categorized as
nofollow and do not help increase page rank for organic searches.
