It was found that different molecules gave
unique noise signals related to the properties of the molecules.
Existing UWB radars typically use a
random noise signal to avoid interference between waves of the same wavelength.
But when the team nudged the waves in one beam forward and took their measurements, they found the correspondence with the second beam started to taper off, and the more they pushed, the more degraded
with noise the signal became.
«Use
of noise signals to identify molecular activity -LRB-(interaction) or (active orbital)-RRB- is attractive for developing advanced sensing devices,» explains corresponding author Megumi Akai - Kasaya.
The strength of the interaction between the carbon nanotubes and molecules was able to be predicted from the
obtained noise signals.
If the flash emitted entangled photons instead, it would presumably be easier to filter out
noise signals by matching up returning photons to linked counterparts kept as references.
# 42, John Fnn, I doubt that surface temps are doing a good job at measuring temp anomalies, because of stable weather from unusual planetary wave placements which sometimes give a rather large temperature
anomaly noise signal.
«Signature analysis of single molecules using
their noise signals.»
If
the noise signal is large enough, the climate signal does have a long term average.
We are not talking about a random walk or
a noise signal.
