This
category,
like Foreign Language Film and Documentary Feature, have always been made up of small committees that are able to formulate the eventual
nominees but this year it's all
in.

nominees for television direction, announced Wednesday, included only one woman among the 11 directors cited
in major
categories.
The Cinema Audio Society announced their 2016 CAS Awards
nominees this morning and it looks
like the major players
in Oscar's sound
categories are falling into place.

liked and part of a film industry voters seem to love; and Holly Hunter, perhaps the biggest underdog

category, but a four - time
nominee who proved with her surprise nomination for Thirteen
in 2004 that, when Oscar voters are given the chance to notice her, they'll take it.
That's 12 - time
nominee and three - time winner Sandy Powell, ladies and gentlemen, and given her track record she sure looks
like the person to beat
in this
category.
While the various branches of industry people
like actors, cinematographers, and sound technicians, vote on the
nominees for each
category in the first stage, the entire membership of nearly 8,000 members, all get to vote on the winners (ballots were due Tuesday).

nominees this year, including games who managed to snag repeat
categories like Baba Is You by Hempuli.
