We literally spent eight hours in the car with probably the perfect poster boy for camp — everything we hoped would happen did — he expressed compassion and confidence — pure joy and excitement — and I'm pretty sure he came away with all
those noncognitive skills we want our children and grandchildren to develop.
It seems to me that a lot of the excitement around
noncognitive skills comes from middle class and upper - middle class parents who
want to know how their children can be as successful as possible in an ever more competitive world.
