The
game is graphically gorgeous and I like that
there are many different paths a racer can take to get to the same destination that are off the
normal grid.
There's a time limit, the stakes are high and everybody will revert back to their
normal size when the limit expires,
game on.
Unfortunately,
there are so many sidepaths that I felt I had to take in this
game that I eventually leveled my character higher than the
normal campaign's monsters, such that I trivialized the content for myself.
The
game isn't really that difficult if you just play on the
normal difficulty setting while you have the option of multiple difficulty settings,
there isn't much of a replay value.
Melee in this
game is void of skill, it is nearly 100 % stat based and you can simply quick swing, power swing or block and the different swings only differences are damage and time taken to execute which in combat comes down to can i take him down with one or two hard hits or do i need to block a bit and beat him down piece by piece
there is no dodging to counteract your possibly poor block skill or lack of shield
there is no need to understand enemy attacks either they will hurt you if they hit you or if you block it it will hurt alittle or almost as much as
normal and with spells and archery its all relevant the spells do elemental damage so the enemy is either resistant, weak, or neutral to a spells type not to mention that every spell has its different element counterpart.
It has all the adventuring mechanics of all the other Mario
games, with a splash of colour (See what I did
there), humour, easy to learn RPG mechanics and a truly unique spin on the Paper Mario series by using «things» that seem like
normal household object and turning them into weapons of mass destruction... to paper villians of course!
The
normal enemies in The Surge alone can act as mini-boss fights and while
there is a lack of enemy variety in the
game, the struggle to improve and iterate on each fight is what makes the
game fun here.
The
game is set to feature 40 characters so
there's a wide variety of beat downs available to the fighting
game connoisseur, and aside from your
normal one - on - one match ups a Tag Challenge mode is also included.
I think it will stay like that because at the end of the day Mario RPG
games arent meant to be as complex as
normal RPGs;
there is a reason people who do nt like RPGs like the Mario RPGs because they are easier to get into.
I wasn't able to spend much time with the multiplayer mode because the
game isn't officially out yet, but
there appear to be sufficient options available for the player with ranked and
normal matches.
This is more then a sequel 2 to the 3ds
game go look at the devolper interviews on the Nintendo page true it not nothing like galaxy but the graphics look great and
there's still plenty of time polish it... and
there's still galaxy and 64 inspired levels in it too and you can control the camera directly unlike 3d land etc lets play the
game first before we judge it I'm sure be will be praising it lol... I for one love the art style cause on the 3ds the resolution wasn't to great now you can really see the art work and every thing on screen is a little larger then
normal it makes it easier to see the little details
This mode will take the place of the Hell difficulty setting in the 3DS
game, though
there's no word on if it will be available immediately out of the gate or if you'll have to beat the
game on
normal first, as with the 3DS version.
Like a snowmobile, though,
there is some discernible noise coming from the track system and with the limited amount of steering lock, the turning circle is massive, so multi-point turns are the name of the
game, but otherwise it drives like a
normal Rogue.
There are several
game modes, just
normal mathematics for you to practice and an Arcade Mode in which you will fight to survive doing math operations while being attacked by Math Ninja.
Looks like Super Sonic is included in the
game as well, but
there's no way to access it during
normal play.
For everyone that's going to buy the
normal edition of the
game, or not buying it at all (so 2 people),
there'll be a bit of a wait before they can pay to download the title.
In fact it's probably fair to say that many
gamers actually went into 2014 with a forgiving attitude, expecting and understanding that
there would likely be more problems than
normal as the developers wrestled with the new technology.
Semi-spoilery elaboration: It certainly doesn't buck the trend of the puzzles being easier and less brainteaserish and more «fiddle with these mechanics until the solution presents itself» every
game, and the
game presents a couple central mysteries that frustratingly don't get resolved at all, and
there are fewer music tracks than
normal, but Kat herself is a pretty good protagonist and the individual cases + the way they tie together aren't bad (although relatively low - stakes compared to previous
games).
The puzzles, on the whole, are pretty lame, far too easy and uninspired, coupled with a combination of the previous two complaints they can lead to cheap deaths which seem to serve only to address the biggest problem with «Dante's», the fact that it's just far too short, a play through on the
normal difficulty setting can be done without much trouble in around 6 hours and with no achievements for completing the
game on harder difficulties,
there's little incentive for doing it again.
So, I felt the
normal difficulty wasn't challenging enough, but you can't choose the hardest difficulty until you've beaten the
game at least once (I dislike when
games do that), but not only that, the unlockable difficulty limits the amount of times you're allowed to save your
game, so
there is little chance I'll even bother playing on that mode.
There was never any hiccups or issues with the
game in general, aside from the occasional longer than
normal load time.
this was the one thing with move that seemed to stand on its own... I don't mind the idea of HD wii sports either, as long as it really is 1:1... that was my only real complaint with the wii when it released...
there was motion control, but it was gimmicky and registered «wiggles» into canned animations... not to mention the gamecube visuals... still not sold on Move though... for me to really want one, I want to see what they are doing with shooters... Socom 4 and killzone 3 could be very special for core
gamers and motion controls if they are done right... if you can aim on screen in true 1:1 fashion while sitting comfortably at a «
normal» gaming distance... it could rearrange how I play first person shooters on a console... developers are saying the Move has input latency of 21ms, which is roughly half of a DS3... and second only to a wired mouse / keyboard... need to see how it works though, as it is not always that simple... just saying that if it does what its supposed to... it could end up being the answer to shooters on a console... as much as I like playing shooters with 2 sticks... I can't argue that I miss the days of a mouse and keyboard (as well as PC being the only platform to get the best shooters on... no longer the case by any means)... but with a first person shooter,
there is no wiggle room... pun intended... it has to register every mm of movement on screen... and do it quickly... not sure if it can yet...
There's a pretty hefty singleplayer offering here compared to most modern shooters, with around 10 - 12 hours of gameplay on
Normal mode, though any Gears veteran is going to want to instantly up the difficulty as
Normal offers little challenge, even for a completely new
gamer.
The
normal pricing for these
games is typically $ 3.99 and up, but they're all being marked down to $ 0.99 for the sale, and should remain
there until January 4th.
Just like with the gun control accesory using the single (not the dual shock) remote with the walking stick could use shild and walk and the other used to point in gun
games can be used to grab a sword or whatever...
There are 3 ways... Only remote controller Dual shock And the walking stick controller used to walk and another
normal remote control... So easy... Why no one gives us options to use the third and best option....
This particular racing
game is a little different than
there normal type of racing
game that the company releases and that is because it is more of a kart racing style
game with defensive and offensive power - ups you can use.
If you happen to be someone who comes up with a masterclass performance to beat the
game on the
Normal, Hard and V. Hard difficulties however,
there is also the option to play through with new characters.
The
game isn't terribly long however, and you can get it over with in about twenty hours if you're playing on easy mode (
there are three difficulties: easy,
normal and hard) and are simply going through the story missions, one after the other.
As you start up the
game there is only one option to play, which is the main story and the difficult level is set to
Normal, but as soon as you finish this mission more missions unlock and also judging by how you finished the mission you also get unlockable weapons etc. to help you out if you choose to redo the mission again to try and get a better ranking as you finish the mission with an overview of how well, or bad, you did.
There are maybe two hard fights in the
game on
normal difficulty, and they are less hard because they require skill and more because they require the use of a specific special move in order to do any damage to the bosses, and that move has a 2 min cooldown.
The
game uses a pretty standard RPG format so
there's not much to learn, however the difficulty in the early segments is a bit higher than
normal for RPG beginnings and doesn't do a good job at easing the player in.
Mediocre
games are the norm in the
normal world, and even through the rose tinted glasses of being a Kickstarter backer,
there is a high chance that someone will get their glorious 100 $ Collector's Edition of a
game that will get a 58 Metacritic score and that would've been better with some more polish and less fluff.
There's no specific target to meet, but thousands of votes and being in the top 100 is certainly desirable (and
normal for
games getting through in the past).
