about everything and can't admit there might be more to life than their limited perception of the world.

about this in the wrong way... I don't understand why they are trying to make

I don't entirely disagree with the posts above, but my understanding is that for plain - old main - stream
atheism, it is best defined by talking
about belief versus lack of belief.
On the other hand, people who comment on feeds from advocates for
atheism, like Richard Dawkins or Sam Harris, are going to be commenting
about something they don't like or approve of — religion.
So when your talking
about Hitler, Stalin, Mao, etc. it wasn't their
atheism that made them do the evil things they did any more than say their lack in the belief in unicorns.
I'm
not sure I understand a) why
atheism is mentioned in response to an article on abortion (since atheists also take both sides on this issue), and b) why there is so much fear and stereotyping
about atheism in general.
