If you got your puppy from a breeder who did
not dock her tail and it is a breed on which that is usually done, it still can be.
We strive to follow the standard exactly as is done by the ADRK in Germany, INCLUDING WE DO
NOT DOCK TAILS ANY LONGER and we make sure the dogs are correct in head type and body structure no matter what country they originated from on the pedigrees.

Coming to the point The upshot of all this is that if your country does
not allow
docking, your national breed club should network with other national clubs in countries with similar laws to develop consistent wording about

The AKC standard, from which most national breed clubs elsewhere in the world drew their own standards, was derived from the older ASCA standard and is largely similar and is essentially the same as regards

A Boxer puppy doesn't meet the AKC's «high» standards until

not have cosmetic surgery performed on my pet, such as
tail docking, declawing, or ear cropping.

docking is banned, our advice is to
not have the pet's
tail docked since it will have to be done in a non-sterile and less than perfect environment.
Despite the belief held by most people who have never owned a rabbit, rabbits are
not simply rodents with
docked tails.
The reason why you might see some with
docked tails is because ranchers that own these dogs didn't want them to get infected from foxtails and other brush ailments.
