Despite several arguments during the
movie about why they are documenting
everything I still can't figure out a good reason.
They attempt to do a spoof commentary, where they lie
about everything that we are seeing, and just like the
movie itself, it isn't funny.
Everything about the
movie's progression feels tired and stale, right down to the inevitable sequences in which the Americans learn their backwards hosts aren't that bad after all.

I thought
about simply explaining what happens in this film to allow people to understand how overwhelmingly ridiculous it all is, but the truth is that if I wrote down

movie scene for scene, you genuinely would
not believe me.
There's a terrific story inside this well - made but bloated
movie, as if director - cowriter Crowe simply couldn't figure out which elements he most cared
about, so he included

It's definitely
not great, and it may
not even be good, but it's

Davis has
everything that Lopez doesn't in Maid in Manhattan: modesty, natural beauty, charisma, a wry sense of humour — you could watch a whole
movie about this persona, which is probably what Hughes had in mind, and her one sequence ends with a joke that also happens to be a far more accurate representation of the subtle fear that aristocracy puts in the minimum - wager than any of the Cinderella markers you'll find in Maid in Manhattan.
I won't tell you what happens but the truth of the matter is that the end really doesn't matter because as the credits begin to roll you've already forgotten
everything about the
movie and that's its biggest strength.

not sure what there is to say
about Raising Arizona's iconic chase sequence other than that it epitomizes
everything that's great
about the
movie — in particular the Coens» comic ingenuity, Sonnenfeld's tremendous camerawork, and Burwell's delirious score.
The two directors of these fine
movies, Steve McQueen («12 Years») and Paul Greengrass («Phillips»), understand that their films are
